Meaning: Mwanga means “light” in Swahili, a name chosen for the shifting blue and violet reflections that characterise Tanzanite.

Collector’s Note: At the heart of MWANGA is a 1.11 ct oval Tanzanite, accompanied by its official gemstone certificate documenting the stone and its characteristics.
Tanzanite is one of the world’s most geographically limited gemstones, occurring naturally in a small mining area in northern Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro. Its singular origin and distinctive blue-violet colour give each stone an inherently individual character.
The certified Tanzanite is set within a sculptural composition crafted in silver and plated with 18K gold. Fluid lines move around the stone before revealing cowrie shell forms—a reference to an object historically associated with value, exchange and wealth across parts of Africa.
At 4 grams, MWANGA has been conceived as more than a gemstone setting. From the individually certified Tanzanite to the sculpted cowrie detailing and gold-finished silver construction, every element contributes to a piece intended to feel rare, considered and collectible.
No two natural Tanzanites are exactly alike. Variations in colour and internal characteristics are part of the individuality of the stone.

Orders are shipped either from France (for a delivery outside Norway) or from Norway (for a delivery to Norway).
